Vehicle reservation & refund policy

1. About these terms

“We”, “us” and “our” mean SAM AUTOS in Galway, Ireland. “You” means the person requesting the reservation, and “vehicle” means the particular car identified in that request.

These terms relate to reserving a vehicle, not to a completed vehicle purchase or a finance agreement. Before requesting a deposit, we will provide our full trader details, the vehicle reference, the amount payable and written confirmation of the applicable reservation terms.

2. Requesting and confirming a reservation

A reservation request is subject to vehicle availability and our acceptance. An automatic acknowledgement only confirms receipt of your request; it does not confirm a reservation.

We will check availability and contact you to agree the deposit and reservation arrangements. A reservation starts only when any agreed deposit has cleared and we have confirmed acceptance in writing.

For imported or externally supplied vehicles, we must first confirm availability and the ability to hold the vehicle with the supplier. A listing alone does not guarantee supplier stock or a reservation.

3. Reservation period

The reservation period is five days from confirmation. Before you pay, we will specify the exact expiry date and time in writing, including how weekends and public holidays are treated. Any extension or different viewing arrangement must be agreed in writing.

During a confirmed reservation, we will hold the vehicle for you under those agreed arrangements. It may remain visible on our website. A test drive or viewing must be arranged with our team.

If the reservation expires without a purchase or an agreed extension, the vehicle may be offered to another customer. Expiry alone does not make the reservation deposit non-refundable.

4. Your reservation deposit

We will tell you the deposit amount and available payment method before requesting payment. No deposit is charged by the current online request form. Please do not include card numbers or other payment credentials in your enquiry.

The reservation deposit is refundable if you decide not to proceed with the vehicle purchase. If you purchase the vehicle, it will be credited towards the agreed purchase price and shown on your invoice.

Any changes to our deposit amount or reservation terms apply only to future reservations and will not change an existing confirmed reservation without your agreement.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel by calling +353 83 324 3408 or by sending a message through our contact page. Include your name and vehicle or reservation reference so we can identify the request.

If you cancel or tell us that you do not wish to purchase the vehicle, we will issue a full refund of the reservation deposit to the original payment method within seven days of receiving your notice. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to display the refund.

If we cannot accept your reservation, the vehicle becomes unavailable, or we cancel a confirmed reservation, we will notify you promptly and issue a full refund of any reservation deposit within seven days. No reservation cancellation fee will be deducted.

Refunds under this policy apply to the reservation deposit. Any subsequent vehicle purchase or separate services must be covered by their own agreed terms and your statutory rights.

6. Vehicle information and purchase

Please check the vehicle description, specification, condition and price with our team before buying. Photographs may vary in appearance between screens. We remain responsible for providing accurate information and addressing any material discrepancies.

Reserving a vehicle does not oblige you to buy it. The purchase price, any trade-in, delivery or import costs, and any finance arrangements will be confirmed separately before a purchase agreement is made.

7. Your rights and contact details

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your statutory consumer rights under Irish law. If you have a concern about a reservation or refund, contact SAM AUTOS and we will work with you to resolve it.
